Aberle equips Logistics Center of Online-Retailer Lesara
As a pioneer in the Agile Retail field Lesara integrates the new facility into their international, highly awarded logistics network. The objective is to further increase quality and economic efficiency of their logistics. To enable this, the up-to-date conveyor and logistics technology connects the sections incoming goods, storing and retrieving, services, such as product packing and parcel configuration, shipping and return management in the new logistics center. Realization of the project will be carried out in two stages - Go-Live of the first stage is planned for the end of summer 2018.
In the final building stage, the Erfurt facility shall ship approximately 33,500 parcels – during high seasons, for instance before Christmas, up to 85,000 parcels – to customers throughout Europe. The compartment rack system is provided by the customer picking and is executed on four floors. For inbound goods with destination warehouses, inner-system transports as well as picking and packing processes, Aberle will install in the incoming goods area three processing lines with numerous workstations. Alongside each of them, there is a vertical-crossbelt-sorter generating a throughput of up to 3,125 cartons and shipping totes per hour. Order consolidation and sequenced supply of order positions will be facilitated by two com-missioners and corresponding tote conveyors.
In the outbound section, Aberle will erect the conveyor system for connecting workstations supplied by the customer for the processing of shipments. A horizontal-crossbelt-sorter organizes the supply for the individual shipping gates. Aberle‘s scope of delivery also comprises the plastic transport boxes used in the internal closed system. Additionally, the PLC-Control of commissioner and conveyor system will be integrated into the warehouse management system (WMS). The visualization system PMS-V by Aberle provides complete transparency for the entire flow of goods in the system.
